Fulham Nil.....
Was it becoming a hinterland of mediocrity which I traversed, with sunburn burning sun into my northern European body, effecting a Gershwin aria? And conversations like these….
“How did Fulham get on mate?”
I had no idea. ”I have no idea.”
“They were at home in the cup, you know to um…”
I didn’t know, “I don’t know.”
Along the street someone English, was teaching English children, English football songs.
“Cheerio, cheerio, cheerio,”
Acknowledging their adieu, I left, clinging resolutely, to my hopes for travel, adventure and continuing education ……in life, other areas and arias.
