Idiot B - some months on....
Her anger was hot, like English mustard spread thick on jagged crisp bread. A note sent by text - mobile to mobile the modern, painless way of communication conveyed the news of relation termination. Citing long distance love, the wrecking crew responsible.
So as ever, he went to the beach where an overcast and therefore sunless sky meant at least an afternoon without further shadows.
But despite this situation, and an awareness that he would barely notice any difference in an island, life his concern was for her, as it appeared her new partner could barely articulate more than the most facile insult. Communication sub - values which she had always flirted with, and he had tried to elevate her from, evidently to no avail. So all that was left to be done was wish her good fortune. .
As for Idiot B, he would simply move on. A comfy flat secured for as long as he wanted, and although not exactly rolling in, Euros had started lining a pocket commensurate with the effort sustained.
Thus despite a setback, all in all, life was good.
