THE MODERN PLAGUE

Well what happens now? fase three approaches around the corner of confinement, but will we be safe? Medics say no...greedy governments push on regardless...lets get back to work, kickstart the economy, as lives lost in Britain reach was that how many? 50, 000?No surely not. a developed country like good old blighty, but wait, the star spangled banner, the land of the free, over 100, 000 and worse, cities on fire after police brutality resulting in civilian deaths, meanwhile President Trump hides in his bunker..safe from the madding crowd...Where will it all end?

The bar from hell – a re-visit

Flag Counter

And so the bar from hell continued with its microwave delights, full breakfast served all day...gut buster...a what buster? Blackboard enticements ..like a sirens calling the hapless victims whom “Dont want any of that foreign muck”

Extra toast my lovely? Only a euro more , or a what about black pudding and hash brown ...just right to fill the gap…

mind the gap.

The entertainment? anodyne at best, well there was the bar fight in the afternoon, started with the Irish cuestion, or was it the Scottish? Really only coming to blows when the English army stepped in...and their blood was red not blue..bish bash...teeth loosening skills honed to perfection after years, yes years...of practice.

The sun continued unabated, flies re-grouping again and again..buzzing sunny side up..landing and buzzing and landing...

RETIRE TO THE SUN

Flag Counter

The sun goes in, the moon comes out to light our way. But which way would that be? A question to consider. Would you take my reckless path? Which curiously some erstwhile work mates are now suggesting it was maybe not such a bad idea, swapping London grime for wall to wall sun and beaches which dissapear into the horizon.

The cost of living? Maybe 50% of that in the English capital, although in fairness, capital city salary was a match and then some..probably still is. True, I have made a few errors here, expensive ones, the biggest culprits are often other ex- pats, or , wait for it, the local banks, whom promise investments which will give you worthwhile return, when in truth you are lucky if your origonal stake is returned.

Of course language is a problem, so TRY AND LEARN SOME, I have made it a favoured pass time, as of course time is on my hands if not my side, and I have found that local attitudes can change quickly if you can defend yourself using the local lexicon.

So has it been a good move? Packing up work as early as poss, and not just moving to the sun but taking time to circumnavigate that globe upon which we live, can never be a regret. Of course I had reasons, escaping someones obscene greed, is a good motive. The satisfaction on recieving a threatening email...only to reply well I´m in Mexico at the moment ( I really was) but good luck!!!

Clearly I wasn´t worth looking for, or was it perhaps the lawyer had run out of free legal aid? The phone with the international code 0044 stopped ringing after a while , the emails stopped...and I just keep on living a dream.

So can you... you will never get the time back.

B Movie - a continuación

Flag Counter
A fug of smoke of dubios legality and origin unknown wafted across the damp cobbled street as if obeying its own green cross code. This pedestrian zone gone wrong had confused the walking populace for some months, an accident waiting to manifest itself.
it chose that dank day to do so.

b movie - more So where to start?

Flag Counter
So where to start? A shuffle along the high street in the crisp morning air might promote thought, speed up the neurons ...reconsidering the “clue”an old and clearly well travelled envelope judging by the post mark and stamp trail...were they stamp collectors? No, nothing as mundane, these two clients were no dullards...but then again rare stamps? A subject he knew little about...philately, perhaps an antique letter? Have to think outside the box on this one…

But first back home shower, maybe the gift of a power nap..see if anything in date in the fridge, although that was doubtfull.

Later the same day, after another look at the envelope, and no further forward...he considered his book of contacts, anyone whom might have a clue, any clue, as to what this was about.

Aqui estoy...
